The "Lycee El-Horreya" school was established at the beginning of the twentieth century in 1/30/1910 by a group of the French community, who wanted to build an educational system that satisfies their aspirations and the culture that they want to implant in the minds of their children, and it is one of the "French Lycee" schools. According to the Encyclopedia of the Secular Mission in Egypt, the emergence of "Lycee El-Horreya" is due to the position of the French Consulate in support of the idea of a number of French residents in Egypt - at the time - to establish a secondary school that would serve as a secular institution for secondary education, and they established alongside it an organization similar to the association to manage this type of Schools, especially after the establishment of the "Lycee Alexandria" school in 1909.
